Description
The Erckel's francolin (Pternistis erckelii) is a species of bird in the family Phasianidae. It is native to Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Sudan. In 1957 the species was also introduced to the Hawaiian islands. They will drive you crazy with their call. I caught this one on an early morning hike this morning.
