Description
Kalawao was the site of the first leper colony established by Kamehameha V in 1866 on the Makanalua Peninsula or the Kalaupapa Peninsula of Molokai. In those days it was a site of misery and lawlessness. Populated by abandon Hawaiians that had been diagnosed with leprosy. They were exiled to this then desolated and isolated spot to live out their existence. Today it is a beautiful spot for tourists to enjoy their lunch while touring the Kalaupapa Historical National Park. All rights apply. FAA watermark will not appear on any photographs purchased.
