Description
It seems that rock stacking has become an art form. You see them, especially at the ocean shores and tourist attractions. Here many are made by visitors, but Hawaiians are said to have offered these artistic endeavors to their gods. Regardless, what I discovered today covered one side of the shore at Pokai Bay Ku'ilioloa Heiau, a sacred place for voyagers and dedicated to several Hawaiian gods. There were at least 70 separate stacks high and low. Photograph is the copyright property of Craig Wood and cannot be copied or used without permission. Awesome capture Craig! It's fascinates me how something as simple as stacked stones can signify, universally, the footprints of people passing through... L&F
