Artist's Description
Queen Liliuokalani of the kingdom of Hawaii was overthrown by a group of foreign merchants in 1893. This is a photograph of the banner of the queen that was flown at the Iolani Palace and removed by one of those merchants. The banner is currently in a private collection in Honolulu. The photo has been edited to remove some stains, small holes and folds, but is in remarkable condition for being over a hundred and thirty years old. All rights apply. FAA watermark will not appear on any photo or product purchased.
About Craig Wood
My first camera was a Kodak Brownie that I purchased with a $5.00 bill that I found at the age of 12 (69 years ago, so no digital then). My first black and white photos were of the Steinhardt Museum in San Francisco and later the Kon Tiki, Thor Heyerdahl's sailing raft. Needless to say I was hooked. I joined the Air Force in 1960 and traveled throughout Asia. Even after retiring from the Air Force I was still in and out of Asia and Hawaii. My usual choice of 35 mm cameras was by Canon. I've done some 4 X 5 macro photography for a friend's magazine and shot lots of weddings, B Day parties, friend's kids / animals and many other joyous occasions. I'm now retired after working for the government for 42 years so spend a lot of time shooting...
