Description
I went for a hike out to the albatross game preserve at the tip of Oahu's West shore. Kaena Point is a 5.6 mile round trip hike along what was many years ago a railroad route to the North Shore of Oahu. The game preserve is fenced and to prevent predators like mongoose and feral cats from attacking the young bird or the eggs of the nesting parent. Seeing these large birds in their natural habitat is inspiring. Albatross mate for life and return to the same place each year to lay eggs and raise their young. Flying overhead to ensure nothing disturbs the nesting parent who are both guardians. All rights apply. FAA watermark will not appear on any photo or product purchased.
