Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

The Kalaupapa Historical National Park is only accessible by plane or on the hiking/mule trail from the topside of Molokai, Hawaii. The trail was hand cut in 1893 by a Portugesse immigrant in order to provide access to the then Leprosy Colony along the Kalaupapa peninsula at the base of Molokai Island. The 3.2 mile (one way) trail starts 1700 ft above Kalaupapa and is maintained by the National Park. It is used daily by tourists and local people that work in Kalaupapa. Rocky and at times wet and muddy it snakes down the cliff front with 26 switch backs that can be challenging. This shot was taken at the junction of switch back 24 and 23 going up. I went up and back down in a period of about 3.5 hours, but only got to switch back #13. I work part time in Kalaupapa and always fly in. I had a brake on this day so thought I'd take the challenge and a challenge it was. Photograph is the copyright property of Craig Wood and cannot be copied or used without permission. About Craig Wood

Craig Wood

My first camera was a Kodak Brownie that I purchased with a $5.00 bill that I found at the age of 12 (69 years ago, so no digital then). My first black and white photos were of the Steinhardt Museum in San Francisco and later the Kon Tiki, Thor Heyerdahl's sailing raft. Needless to say I was hooked. I joined the Air Force in 1960 and traveled throughout Asia. Even after retiring from the Air Force I was still in and out of Asia and Hawaii. My usual choice of 35 mm cameras was by Canon. I've done some 4 X 5 macro photography for a friend's magazine and shot lots of weddings, B Day parties, friend's kids / animals and many other joyous occasions. I'm now retired after working for the government for 42 years so spend a lot of time shooting...
