Northwest Indian Mask T-Shirt

The mask was carved by my Sister In Law's father Roger Haferkamp. He was a passionate carver that made totem poles, masks and many small animals. He would do extensive research whenever he set out to do a piece that he wanted to be as authentic and honest to the art of the Northwest Indians. I was so taken by the artistry and patience that it must have taken to create this beautiful mask. I wanted to photograph it in a setting that complimented the natural beauty of it and would honor the man that made it. Roger passed away some years ago but his art remains to remind us of who and what he was. Photograph is the copyright property of Craig Wood and cannot be copied or used without permission. My first camera was a Kodak Brownie that I purchased with a $5.00 bill that I found at the age of 12 (69 years ago, so no digital then). My first black and white photos were of the Steinhardt Museum in San Francisco and later the Kon Tiki, Thor Heyerdahl's sailing raft. Needless to say I was hooked. I joined the Air Force in 1960 and traveled throughout Asia. Even after retiring from the Air Force I was still in and out of Asia and Hawaii. My usual choice of 35 mm cameras was by Canon. I've done some 4 X 5 macro photography for a friend's magazine and shot lots of weddings, B Day parties, friend's kids / animals and many other joyous occasions. I'm now retired after working for the government for 42 years so spend a lot of time shooting...
